Clean(er) DIY Cleaners

My grandmother used to clean glass with newspaper and vinegar.  It always got mirror sparkling and the odor was surprisingly fresh.

Now, courtesy of my new magazine obsession "The Magnolia Journal", here are three simple and powerful natural cleaners for the home.  You will be surprised at how effective they are at tackling  grime, grease, and smudges!

Tile and Grout Cleaner

1/2 cup baking soda

1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide

1 teaspoon natural liquid dish soap

Mix ingredients in a resealable container.

All-Purpose Spray

2 cups water

1/2 cup white vinegar

2 tablespoons baking soda

20 drops of essential oil, like grapefruit or lavender, if desired

Pour water and vinegar into a spray bottle.  Add baking soda and oil.  Shake gently to mix.

Glass Cleaner

1 cup water

1 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

20 drops essential oil, if desired

Pour water and vinegar into a spray bottle.  Add lemon juice and oil.  Shake gently to mix.  Works best with newspaper!
